I could actually go buy this car right now with cash. Now at $2295, I bet he would take $2,000 if I put it in his hand. How much suck is a 4.1L (250 CI)
V8 on a scale of 1-10? I’m thinking it’s a solid 2.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Original 1982 Cadillac Coupe deVille 2-door, with 85,000 ORIGINAL miles.
4.1L V8, with auto transmission. Crushed red velvet velour interior,
power seats, remote mirrors, original 4-way AM/FM Cassette radio which
was considered top-of-the-line back then. Nearly new white-wall tires,
original chrome spoke hub-caps, original spare tire and rim. Good glass
all the way around. Very straight body. Paint is getting old, but
still takes a shine, most chrome is still bright and intact.
In very good condition for a 36 year old car. Has been a daily drive over the last couple of years
Have original 1982 factory service manual, many extras, too much to list. Currently running very well.
was $2700.00, now $2295.00 or OBO, call Glenn at 4o6-2four9-1three36

I love it! Yeah, I’d agree the 4.1 is about a 2. At least it’s not an 8-6-4.

The backseat of that coupe has more room than the backseat of most modern full-sized sedans.

The 4100 is the displacement on demand engine, plus it had problems with head bolts pulling out. So suck level is like 10+ unless DOD is disabled or replaced with a 307/350, which was a common mod. Later RWD Caddy’s got the 307 Olds motor from ‘86 on to cure the problem.

I’d run away. When that 4.1 engine was new, it was wonderful. My dad bought a brand new D eVille with that engine back in the 80s. It got decent mileage and was actually quite peppy. It was actually fortunate that someone hit him and totalled that car, because he replaced it with one that had the Chevy 305 (or was it the Olds 307? I don’t recall that well.) 30-4 0 years on now, I’d not touch a car with the 4.1 V8.
It might be a fun LS swap candidate, there’s plenty of room under the hood for any kind of engine you’d like.

Oh HELL no. It’s an 82 8-6-4 with all the OTHER bullshit.
FIRST. YEAR. HT4100.
The suck level cannot be expressed using any numbers understandable by humans.

Yeah it is at a suck global maxima that’s for sure. 1/0 comes close to approximating the suck, but even that is an understatement.

Funny. I was just debating this sedan D eville. Not that I need something else.

That’s more like it, good god that V8 is huge.

It’s not even the big one. Cadillac also built a 500 cubic inch plant, crazily initially only available in a FWD chassis.
